Why are flamingos pink?
Flamingos and shrimp are actually both pink from eating algae that contains carotenoid pigments. Flamingos eat both algae and shrimp-like critters, and both contribute to their fabulous pinkness. The root of this word is ‘carot’ because these same pigments are what make carrots orange!

How do you make a flamingo out of toilet paper?
- Cut out pink construction paper the size of your toilet paper roll.
- Glue the paper to the toilet paper roll.
- Download and print the flamingo clip art.
- Cut out the head, wing, and tail.
- Glue the bottom of the neck to the top left side of the roll, like in the below image.
How do you make a tissue paper flamingo?
- Fluff your pouf!
- Draw and cut out your tissue paper flamingo head and legs.
- Hot glue!
- Once your accents are in place, nestle the bottom of the flamingo head into the folds of the pink pouf (as near to the center as you can get ) and use the hot glue gun to glue it in place.
